Berry Picking

At some point in June we went to a new berry farm. Strawberries and Raspberries were currently in season. It was a super hot day and my boys hadn't had a haircut in a long time so they look all sorts of hoodlum-ish but all was good and they were all great helpers!

We got lost looking for the Strawberries but we found the sprinklers, so that was a refreshing surprise.

Then started with raspberries.

At first we weren't seeing very many strawberries so I was worried they were all gone, we were excited that we eventually found a couple quarts, thanks to the help of these boys and their strong backs.

 Super successful and delicious outing!

Rose Garden 2020

We were excited to learn that the Rose Garden opened back up in time for our annual visit. Which is usually around the second week of June or right after school gets out. We were able to go with our good friends and see them after a long time quarantined. Of course there is the whole phase where Edwin gave up on  naps unless we drive somewhere in the evening. Luckily we woke up and ran around enough to sleep well later.

peek-a-boo!

Our Children were excited to be together, I kinda feel bad for all the people enjoying a peaceful picnic, but kids gotta play and enjoy the beauty of the garden too right?

Then getting some good running in before the sun went down.

That's a pretty strong daddy.

They usually end up pretty muddy by the end to the night.

Charlie had this photo all planned out, even the part where Max is holding Edwin but hiding. I'm glad he was looking our for his brother's safety.

I think this photo was Charlie's idea too.

As Max was buckling up the other boys, Charlie wanted to go across the street to take photos of me at the entrance of the Japanese garden, which we never go to because it costs extra and the Rose Garden is free.  haha!

This was his idea too, haha!

It was a short couple of minutes but Charlie said he loved doing stuff with just the two of us.
Anyway, my children have a reputation of at least one of them pooping their pants when we do our Rose Garden outing and its so annoying because the bathroom is so far away. So we told them if no one pooped their pants we'd go get a treat afterwards.

They did it! Which may seem super silly but it was worth celebrating. So we went out to get doughnuts on the way home.
