You know how sometimes the weekends are spent doing busy stuff that you don't really want to do, but then there are other times Sunday evening comes along and you realize that nothing more could make that weekend more perfect.
We had a weekend like that.
Saturday Morning:
Max gets up early to get a couple hours of work done on the house. Lisa, August, Brayden, and Mitchel stayed the night with us while they are in town for the weekend. Lisa left early to drop Mitchel off with his other cousins so Charlie and I just had a quiet morning. I get a call from Max who stopped at a garage sale right next to our house. We've been finding some amazing garage sale deals recently to help make our house a home. He found a brand new projector for a tiny tiny price. We've been playing with the idea of getting with the times and purchasing a TV, up to this point we have only watched movies on our computer and we aren't really TV watchers. So we were really excited about this purchase..and it becomes important later in the story...read on.
Lisa came back and so did Max and we got ready to go to OMSI!! (just a fair warning, there will probably be a lot of OMSI posts over the next year.) It was even more fun this time because Max could come, and Aunt Lisa, and cousins! and here are some excellent picture taken by Lisa...

We were exhausted after our day at OMSI but the fun didn't stop there. We headed to the Polish Festival. Max's cousin, Danika has a Polish boyfriend, Michael. A really nice guy and basically part of the family. They were working in one of the booths and invited us to come. So we decided to check it out and enjoy some delicious Polish food. Another unique experience we have under our belts. Plus, the caricature drawing lady asked if she could draw Charlie's picture for free so others could see her drawing and want to buy a picture. We ended up being glad we didn't pay for it because the picture turned out pretty creepy.
The rest of Saturday we took a family trip to the grocery store and called it a night.
Sunday: We had a nice Lazy morning and enjoyed Max being home. Went to church, where Charlie has decided that we will fuss if he can't get his wiggles out so he spent a lot of time out in the halls, racing around with other babies and working up quite the sweat. Luckily he slept the last hour. After church we had some dinner and some family hammock time!
We followed our hammock time with a brief walk to the park, by brief I mean we went to the park that's in our back yard. We then headed home and Charlie went to bed. This is where the projector story comes in.
With the baby in bed, the hammock set up, and the weather gorgeous, We felt is was a perfect opportunity to try out the projector on the patio and have a romantic outdoor movie date.
With hot cocoa in hand, we cuddle up on the hammock with lots of blankets and watched Harry Potter and the Dealthly Hallows Part 2. We felt we needed a pretty epic movie for our first outdoor projector date so this one seemed appropriate. And let me tell you, it was a fun night.
That evening i felt so blessed that I was able to spend so much time with my family and having fun and new adventures. Life is good...and I'm pretty sure that's how all weekends should be.
