Snow Day 2

Our next snow day started on a Wednesday afternoon. I had kept Charlie home from preschool since he was snotty and coughing. I'm glad I kept him home since the snow started around noon, Portland went into a panic and because school wasn't canceled traffic got so bad (portlanders cant drive in snow and we don't have plows) some of our friends had kids stuck at school until 7pm. Other's were stuck in traffic for 8+ hours. We just got to stay home and be cozy (after my crazy morning grocery store run where I left Charlie home with Max) It took awhile before we were finally ready to go outside and play but we did right at bedtime and made some memories... I took some pictures of our really great Christmas lights and cute little house in the snow! Now it's documented so more  than our 1 neighbor can see it. We got a lot more snow than the previous week and it stuck around for a couple days.

This Miles gets a thrill out of throwing snowballs...

The snowball fights got a little wild.

And just when we were about to go in, we decided to do some sparklers that we had leftover from 4th of July, because why not?

My ghost children...

The next morning, we made time to play in it again with our neighbor Nevaeh. My boys love Nevaeh and she is so great with them. We made a snow man and, of course, had more snowball fights.

I'm pretty sure Max made the snowman and the boys ditched him

we then made our way to the near-by church to see if the sledding was any better this time.

The sledding wasn't great but running down hills and climbing trees was great!

Haha, this was Miles slowly leaning backwards to lie in the snow...he held that position for quite awhile.
And finally gave in to lie down in the snow.

And Charlie started a grand old wrestling match.

And then it was time for us to all go in and warm up. It was cold so the snow stuck around a couple more days and Charlie didn't get to go to his last day of preschool before winter break which was kind of a bummer because he was excited about making gingerbread houses but he was pretty happy about the snow too!

  1. Those sparklers were unexpected. haha
Also, it's unfair that you have snow AND get to drive to a beach in the summer. I mean, we could also drive to a beach but it would take bout 5 times longer...
