Mother's Day 2017

Mother's Day!
Another wonderful thing about May is Mother's Day! It started with a delicious crepe breakfast made by my boys.  It was so good and Max went all out. Along with the crepes and berries, there was freshly whipped cream, sausage, biscuits, and juice. And of course, freshly picked flowers from the yard! May is just a great month!

Charlie gave me some gifts that he made me in preschool, he had a hard time waiting to give them to me. He had painted a frame and put a picture of me and him in it, he also painted a fan (everything was painted green because he knows that's my favorite color.) He also had this card he gave me. I love these surveys so much, and Charlie loved that it made me laugh so hard so he kept bringing it to me throughout the day to "make me laugh!"
We enjoyed ourselves then slowly got ready for church. At church Charlie was supposed to sing with the other primary children but instead just stared at me. I found out later that he was trying really hard to hold in his poop...so that was funny.

After church, we ate a quick dinner and made our way to Summerlake park. I've really only been to Summerlake park a couple times as a kid even though it wasn't that far from where I grew up. We took some traditional mother's Day photos (I think this is the 3rd or 4th year we've done this.) Also, I have a new son this year! so that's exciting. (And he has grown significantly since these photos were taken, and I have lost at least 15 pounds of that baby weight...so there's that)

Miles is my little love, he's the most likely to bring me flowers, complement my hair or clothes, or give me hugs and kisses!

We had bribed the children to be in pictures by telling them they could play on the park afterwards...we kept our word. Also, as we went to the playground, we immediately ran into a friends from Charlie's preschool class, and some of our friends/tenants that had just moved out (from one of our rental properties) the day before. Random!

But then I wanted photos of Max with our boys.

Gathering more flowers as we walk to the car.
We made our way home and got those kids in bed. As hard as this mothering thing is, I'm so grateful for these beautiful little boys that call me mom.

  1. Now I want crepes. I love the photos and the ones by that little lake have such dreamy light. That questionnaire from Charlie is so funny! You burn those waffles with a hundred salt. And you must be pretty old and weigh a whole lot! ;) and you're not even funny. LOL
