Zoolights

I have to say that I'm not a fan of big crowds, or freezing temperatures. But we were invited to Zoolights and decided to go. We ended up getting a zoo pass so we could enjoy the zoo more (and we have been enjoying it since) We went with some of our favorite people but after taking forever to get to the zoo and then forever to park and then forever to pick up our tickets. We scrambled through the crowds constantly worried we were going to lose a kid. Charlie kept asking to see different animals and we were all grumpy and trying to keep up with our group. I am well aware that I am complaining, and it really is mostly to remind me not to go again. I don't think anyone in my family had fun. Haha! The plus side is that I didn't get cold because I had a heated jacket...however, I did constantly worry about my kids being warm enough. And the only photos I have to show for the event are a couple penguin photos. It's definitely a memory...next time we'll drive the neighborhood with hot cocoa and Christmas music.

The End

  1. I did Zoo lights once a long time ago with I think Just June but yeah, not worth it. It was freezing! And no animals are even out so the lights are really the only thing but you can see lights from your warm car, like you said. So yes, I’m a grinch too like you ;)

  2. I went again later on a weeknight and it was 20 times better. Way less crowded, and we were there early enough that the indoor elephant area was open, so we went and hung out in the warm area halfway through and sat down and watched the elephants for a while. So, if you ever consider going again, definitely do it early on a weeknight and not a weekend.

    1. I was thinking we might attempt that next year since we will still have the pass...if it’s warm enough! Haha!
