Tulip Fields

We found out that the tulip festival was being extended and we hadn't been there in three years so we knew this was a sign that we needed to go again. ( I mean, Edwin had NEVER been so it was time!) We made it there within an hour of closing but it turned out great since there were fewer people there and the light was supposedly better. Ha! Also, they didn't kick us out at closing time so that was a win!

And my kids were in love with any tractor-like object they found, so they had a blast!

Glowing Tulips!

The following sequence are my kids dancing like wild banshees in front of the flowers, I don't know what promoted this. Miles has some intense faces.

Then this guy that looked really professional asked if we wanted him to take our picture. We let him and our kids even looked at the camera, and he had some great lines....but alas, they turned out blurry...yet I'm still putting them on the blog.

 I think this picture is funny because you can see Max's shadow while he is trying to make the kids smile.

 Anyway, I'm sure my photo commentary was annoying but this was quite the fun evening among the tulips. It was the perfect way to start off the warm part of spring!!

Soccer

There was a spring Soccer season, and many of the games were super rainy! I finally made it to one of the games, luckily it was the first sunny game. So, soccer is interesting because half of the player on Charlie's team have played for years and are pretty good at following the rules. Ad some kids just started this year (ahem...Charlie) He loves soccer and running after the ball (until he gets tired) but still struggles to figure out the rules. We have goals of practicing more at home and we're happy he is really enjoying himself! And I took a couple pictures from the game I went to. But mostly they are from the warm up. 

Anyway, Miles had no interest in soccer again so he didn't do it this spring. Charlie looks forward to doing more soccer in the fall.

Greased Lightening

Just a random day when I accidentally dressed my kid in skinny jeans and a dirty white onesie, so now there are photos to document this 2-year-old greaser.

He was saying "shake yo booty" in these photos, something his brothers taught him.

Easter

Our Easter celebrations were spread over various days, there was a mix of easter egg hunts and activities to help us focus on Jesus Christ and the atonement. The days coming up to easter we reviewed the last week of the Savior's life with various  activities. It's so interesting to see how much more my boys understand each year. 

On the Friday before Easter we dyed eggs. We got a kit for galaxy eggs and making them was a lot less messy than normal egg dyes...but the mess came later, stay tuned for that. We liked how they turned out. 

 

We decided to do Easter baskets and egg hunts on Saturday morning as to keep Sunday more focused on Christ and it was perfect. I don't know why I didn't do this sooner. 

Charlie's note...

In the morning, the Easter bunny took the galaxy eggs out of the fridge and rubbed them on her hands to make sure the dye wouldn't come off, it didn't so she hid them. (we have a glitter stain on our piano from a easter egg hunt in my childhood, its a fun memory but I didn't want to add another stain to my lovely piano.) As the eggs warmed up and some condensations appeared on the egg, the dye started to spread all over everything. We had to help the boys finish the hunt as to make sure the dye didn't spread any further. Anyway, it was exciting, moving on....

We enjoyed our Easter Sunday services and the big boys being absolutely silly while they were supposed to be singing Easter songs to the congregation. The afternoon was filled with quiet time and a fondue dinner.  

A couple weeks before Easter I overheard a woman at Costco telling another woman "Happy Easter, He is Risen!" I loved having this glimpse of people that have a relationship with their Savior and celebrate His resurrection on this day. There is so much hope in this life thanks to Him!
