Lunch Lady Land

Now that we're gearing up for this Halloween, let's take a look at our Halloween last year!  Okay, but before you move forward, if you have never heard of Lunch Lady Land, stop and watch this video. It's a classic Chris Farley and Adam Sandler skit from SNL (it's family friendly) Okay, even if you have seen it and know the song by heart, you should watch it again, Chris Farley's moves are never not funny!

So, I pride myself on not spending money for Halloween. It hurts to think of the $40 costumes that are so cheaply made. So I reused my apron from my Dorothy costume the year before. Then we made and borrowed the food item costumes (we weren't picky about which food we were) and the costumes cost me a total of...drum role please.....$5!!! We only purchased the banana costume (used) . The taco was borrowed and as you can tell, the ice cream cone and sloppy Joe were very homemade with materials we already had.

Also, Max got special permission to use this cafeteria that is part of his department at work (in a hospital). We were surprised they were okay with it during COVID times. But they also weren't using it much with COVID times so maybe it makes sense. Ha!

The kids requested a "food fight" photo! I'm glad they're finally getting puns!

His hat is supposed to be the cherry on top! And he's just really into Spiderman.

And they all wanted to be eaten!

Anyway, we had a wonderful Halloween. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings for Lunch with Brent and Lisa and family. And in the evening we went to my Red Grandmas and had split pea soup and trick or treated on her block. This was the first time we were able to spend time with her since COVID started, and was a highlight of the year for both of us.

Armenian Lost Tooth Party

Back in October (2020) Miles lost his first tooth so we decided to celebrate Armenian style. I don't know if this is a more recent thing but when I went back to Armenia in 2016, First Lost tooth parties were a big thing! We happened to walk in on one, as well as see lots of decorations sold in stores. We hadn't heard of this celebration back when we were there in 2007-2008. I'm wondering if its a celebration that came about from social media...kinda like gender reveal parties? Anyway, I don't really care how it came about, it was a great excuse to celebrate the wonderful person that Miles is as well as make Armenian food and cake! So that's just what we did.

I also got to take out some of my fancy Armenian dishes!

The extent of my cupcake decorating skills!

Dolma-Armenian Style! Turned out wonderful!

Kartoshka (potato) Pirashkis-turned out decent.

Our cousins and Grandma Sharolee came and we listened to Armenian music and ate Armenian food and had a fun time making memories and celebrating MILEStones. (Ha, get it?)

Birthday at the Pumpkin Patch

My birthday (way back in October 2020)  fell on a Fun-Friday so I decided to take my kiddos to the pumpkin patch. There is a petting zoo area that went along with our Mammal study. We were so excited that cousins and Grandma could join us.  It was a very hot day, the hottest birthday I ever remember having, so the pumpkin beanies didn't stay on for long.

The hayride was pretty rough for my very pregnant self (I'm so glad I'm not pregnant anymore!!!) I was worried we may have an early baby and I'd have to share my birthday!

I was 32 weeks along on my 35th birthday. 35 is the official entrance into "Advanced Maternal Age"

We checked out the farm store before leaving for some fresh veggies and pumpkins and kettle corn then made our way back home to keep on celebrating.

I don't remember all the rest of the details but I'm pretty sure we had Grab a gyro for dinner and I also got a laminator...which I'm still obsessed with! And the boys were so excited to pick out the rainbow flowers at Costco.
