Lunch Lady Land

 

Now that we're gearing up for this Halloween, let's take a look at our Halloween last year!  Okay, but before you move forward, if you have never heard of Lunch Lady Land, stop and watch this video. It's a classic Chris Farley and Adam Sandler skit from SNL (it's family friendly) Okay, even if you have seen it and know the song by heart, you should watch it again, Chris Farley's moves are never not funny! 

So, I pride myself on not spending money for Halloween. It hurts to think of the $40 costumes that are so cheaply made. So I reused my apron from my Dorothy costume the year before. Then we made and borrowed the food item costumes (we weren't picky about which food we were) and the costumes cost me a total of...drum role please.....$5!!! We only purchased the banana costume (used) . The taco was borrowed and as you can tell, the ice cream cone and sloppy Joe were very homemade with materials we already had. 

Also, Max got special permission to use this cafeteria that is part of his department at work (in a hospital). We were surprised they were okay with it during COVID times. But they also weren't using it much with COVID times so maybe it makes sense. Ha!

The kids requested a "food fight" photo! I'm glad they're finally getting puns! 

His hat is supposed to be the cherry on top! And he's just really into Spiderman. 

And they all wanted to be eaten!

Anyway, we had a wonderful Halloween. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings for Lunch with Brent and Lisa and family. And in the evening we went to my Red Grandmas and had split pea soup and trick or treated on her block. This was the first time we were able to spend time with her since COVID started, and was a highlight of the year for both of us.
