November Highlights

 November 2020

And here is a little glimpse of November 2020, the photos are a little jumbled but since they are making their appearance on the blog 1 year late, I don't really care.

November started with Miles and I going to church. At this time the only people attending church were the speakers and those playing music so Miles went with me while I gave my talk. It was a beautiful Fall day when we came out of the church and Miles always requests photos whenever he sees a beautiful place (I love this about him) So here are some Miles photos.

And then some more day to day stuff!

Smashing pumpkins

We let our kids watch Home Alone...Charlie loved it!

Edwin telling us that he would choose to be the wiseman with the cookie jar.

In addition to requesting photos in beautiful places...Miles also requests photos with random objects...

He's so cute when he wants to do school work.

Flu shot trip to the doctor. I think this was the first time during COVID that we went to the dr office.

We have never officially named a baby before they were born but we decided to go for it when Pottery Barn had their stockings on sale and we needed to get a matching one for Walter. haha! We were already confident we were going to name him Walter. We all liked the name, except for Charlie who wanted to name him Quasimodo.

When we were finishing our mammals unit we found that you can put virtual animals in your world We started with Mammals but eventually turned into dinosaurs.

The dinosaur among my chickens. (mini dinosaurs)

Anyway, we had a lot of fun with that.

More schoolwork...Miles can't sit normal while doing school...and that works well for us.

Learning about bears while eating like bears.

Before Walter was born we were working really hard on getting them to do more after-dinner clean up.

Charlie's birthday.

More school stuff!

More baby prep....Just an FYI..I was the one to hand wash all of this!

Park play after we took Charlie's 9 year old photos.

Miles helped Edwin with his Goat.

We got to go to church all together one last time before baby brother was born.

Whenever we buy paper towels, toilet paper, wipes, or diapers at Costco...large towers are made.

For a Fun Friday, we made it out to a fun pet store with a tortoise named Winston.

Miles and Edwin put tattoos on their wrists and pretended they were watch Walkie Talkies and for some reason whenever Edwin was talking into his wrist, he would say "It's Taco Tuesday" I'm not sure where he got that from as we don't ever talk about Taco Tuesday, but we thought it was funny.

On my due date, which was Thanksgiving, I had to make dinner because all the take-out places were too busy which was my original plan. So we made Fancy Waffles.

The day after Thanksgiving (day after my due date as well) We decided to go get a Christmas tree so we could have that all set up when we brought the baby home. So that's what we did.

Apparently my boys wear shorts year round.

We needed to get a tiny tree to fit into our house this year since we were adding another human to our family and we were outgrowing our house.

Everyone got to saw at it but just barely because the stump was so small.

The boys thought it was hilarious that they could all lift the tree over their head.

And we loved that we could just throw it in the back of our van and drive home.

We had fun spending the rest of the day decorating and the rest of the month waiting for baby brother.

\

And I also had to go in a bunch and do some non-stress tests, which was annoying but also a nice break. ha!

And that was our November and our last moments as a family of 5.

Due Date

(November 26th 2020)

Thanksgiving 2020 was also the day that baby Walter was due! I have never once had a baby on or before my due date so we expected this day to come and go without holding a baby in our arms. But we have made it a tradition to do something else fun on the due dates. Not everything went according to plan since the take-out dinner we were planning didn't work out due to it being Thanksgiving, and I ended up cooking on my due date. ha! But we did take these super awkward photos so we can all remember this giant belly.

I think Edwin was more grumpy about us making him be in a photo than having a baby brother. He kinda likes Walter.

Photos get weird around here.

Poor Max, good thing he's strong!

 See, he's happy.

Anyway,Walter came 5 days later!

Charlie turned 9

November 2020

It happened, I got a whole year behind on my blog. Some people might give up at this point but I've found this to be a wonderful thing for us to look back on so I will continue on. Here are Charlie's 9th birthday photos.  It's crazy to see these are realize how much he has grown in the last year. He is a smart little cookie that wants to do all things in his own way and on his own terms. Homeschool has been good and challenging for him. He has recognized that he was able to grasp concepts better and really learn but he also has a hard time with me telling him what to do and he has very much missed being with friends daily.

Charlie is a natural leader, which sometimes leads to bossiness, but he is always coming up with fun ways to play and his brothers are often on board.

This boy has pushed me to the limits of my patience and then some, but he also has taught me so much about slowing down and letting go of some control to try things in a new way. We are very similar in our need to have control.

He is a kind hearted and loyal friend.

Anyway, My dear Charlie is amazing and kind and creative and I am lucky to be his mom.

I will add the rest of the photos we took since this is their only chance at ending up on the blog.

Miles took some of us while my belly was giant, a couple weeks before Walter's birth.

On Charlie's birthday we got to eat all his favorite foods and have ice cream and cake and his new best friend and his family came over to celebrate with us. (New neighbors that moved in by our old house)
