Color Run

Back in February Max's older brother, Brent, threw out the idea of getting the whole family involved in the Color Run. Brent signed up his whole family and his mom as her birthday gift. We thought it was great idea to have an active family event so we signed up too! The color run is just a 5K (3.1 miles for the non-metric users) with colored powder. It was a huge event. Huge crowds and what-not.
This is what we looked like before! All clean and pristine!
We started the race with Mitch and Brayden. We went between running and walking. Part of the race was on gravel which made using the jogging stroller a little difficult.
Showing how tough we are!

Don't mess with these fellas!
We finally let Charlie have a chance at running. He insisted on pushing his stroller.

We didn't get too far too fast

Then Charlie liked the game of "chase the stroller"

Until he fell down and needed some Daddy cuddles.
After putting Charlie back in the stroller we ran the last little stretch but then took Charlie out of the stroller to run across the finish line all holding hands. The finish line ended up being anti climatic. I was hoping for balloons and confetti and a roaring crowd but oh well. There was a massive party with color powder and loud music a short distance away.
Happy we made it.

Love this handsome boy!

I love being active as a family!
Then the real color powder throwing began. We had some pink color that we had fun covering each other with.

Charlie really got into it!

Pretty tired by this point.

I'll take all the cuddles I can get!

And here is everyone after!
Good idea Brent. We're glad we were able to participate in the 2013 Portland Color Run

  1. Geez. Stop making me look so lazy! ;) I LOVE that you had charlie be apart of this and let him get covered in colors. And that picture of him not pushing the stroller cracked me up!

  2. You guys are awesome. I love color runs. Grace still talks about them all the time and had so much fun looking at Charlie's pictures. We should do a family 5k at the next family reunion. Maybe even die some corn starch and have a color splash afterwards.
