We had such a blast in the Portland Rose Gardens last year when Anna came to visit that we decided to go again in early June because that has proven to be the best time to go. The blooms are perfect! I also wanted to practice with my camera some more and take an annual picture in our favorite rose arch. We invited our friends Richard, Marissa , and Lacey to come with us. Luckily Lacey poses for the camera instead of running away like Charlie. When I got home and looked at the photos I was disappointed at how white washed they looked compared to the vibrant roses that we actually saw so I attempted some photo editing to make it look more like how we saw them. I really don't know much at all about photo editing so I think I will have to pick your mind (Anna) when we come visit. Now looking at them all together I'm realizing I was pretty inconsistent with the coloring....oh well. Photo practice aside, we had a wonderful time in this beautiful place with our great friends. The weather was perfect and Charlie and Lacey had a great time running through the roses. Charlie is a little out of practice with his flip flop running so he kept tripping and now his knees and elbows are a little roughed up but he still had fun!

| It was on this bench that Richard proposed to Marissa. |
They found a centipede and were pretty excited about it.

I could fill albums of photos of Charlie's back!
And now it's time for our sequence of Rose Garden photos under the arch....

I'm liking this tradition and hope to keep it going for awhile...maybe we'll get photos with our teenagers there...or even our grandkids...oh the possibilities.
I will never forget the rose gardens! It was the best. And I liked your photos. But I'll give you any tips that I have, just come to utah already! ;) and good thing charlie has a cute back ;)
