Christmas

 Christmas 2021

We'll start with our Awkward family photos. I just love that we have this wonderful space to hang our stockings. Someday we may have a mantle, but this works great for now.

Notice how half of us are in pajamas and half in church clothes, haha!

Anyway, we did those pictures a couple weeks before Christmas. The week of Christmas was busy with our floors being installed and we needed to rearrange our furniture. Most of our furniture and our fridge were in our living room which was a little crazy but it turned out kind of fun to have our table by the tree for games and puzzles and may become a future tradition.

Max got home from work Christmas eve morning. and rested for awhile. We then spent the day doing some games and getting our house back in order.

Miles ended up having a fever. We had put the baby to bed and sat with our 3 older boys on the couch and chatted with them, Edwin fell asleep in Max's arms and Miles (our little fever boy) fell asleep in my arms. It was just calm and fun. (Minus the sick part)

Also, notice the fridge behind Max, once the floors were installed we had put a new fridge in and at some point, late on Christmas Eve night, Max and I moved that fridge to the basement. haha. Christmas Magic.

We made sure the living room was all ready.

And the elves even vacuumed.

We had some excited boys on Christmas morning. and Thankfully Miles was feeling a whole lot better.
The morning started with an intense laser tag battle.

Edwin's game face.

So that was a lot of fun.
Then we checked out our stockings. And ate some breakfast, which was cream of wheat, I was limited because we still didn't have an oven. I usually like to stick a breakfast casserole in while the boys are checking out their stockings.

Walter liked shoving candy (still with the wrapper) into his mouth.

After breakfast we spent time slowly opening gifts we had picked out for each other.

Can you guess this kids favorite animal? (Each boy got a mug of their favorite animal, along with some special hot cocoa)

And some more scenes of the day.

My little brothers sent a large package of nerf guns so we could have family battles. haha! They all tore open that package together.

Anyway, nap time came for Walter so Max and I decided to nap as well since we were up all night moving furniture and what not...so boys watched Encanto for the first time. (We have yet to put our TV up and so far we haven't really missed it in the year we've lived here.)

Later that day, Max's uncles were hosting a Christmas dinner, and since Miles had been sick I stayed home with him. Miles loved the one-on-one time. We played games did some laser tag, ate dinner (he finally had a little appetite) and I watched Encanto for the first time (Miles' second) He kept saying how he wasn't glad he was sick but he was so glad we got to have time to play together and it was really just so special.

The rest of the boys came home and it was a good night!

It was so special to not only spend Christmas in our new home but to spend it in a home where I have celebrated many Christmases, throughout my whole life.
