Pre Anniversary trip.

 April 2021

We had the opportunity to crash a friend's vacation up in Seattle and we jumped at the chance, Our great friends Anna and Buck were going up to Seattle with Anna's parents and it's only a 3 hour drive for us so we dropped all the kids at Grandma's house and made our way to Seattle. They had planned to visit a couple tulip fields so we met at one of them. This one was even more beautiful than the one we usually go to (which is also amazing.) It was so fun to see all the variety. It ended up pouring which wasn't a bit deal for us Pacific Northwesterners, except for the times our shoe fell off in the mud. We loved seeing Anna and Buck and Anna's sister and parents. We walked through several different gardens ate some fudge and walked through the gift shop. The colors were so vibrant and there was a variety of many other flowers and it was the perfect time for all the blossoming trees.

I've noticed that the tulips that always stand out to me are the fiery ones! Ones with orange, reds and yellows. I was so pleasantly surprised with  I saw some fiery tulips pop up in our yard this week.

After the garden we made our way to the ferry to go toward our hotel. Buck and Anna jumped into our car while we rode the ferry and we got to catch up with them for a bit. When we landed. (docked?) in Port Townsend we met up at a little restaurant. It was delicious and we were really glad we ordered a meal to share.

After filing our bellies we checked into our hotel. It was our first (and only so far) night away since Walter was born so we were super excited about that. But we dropped our stuff off. Got out of our rain soaked and muddy clothes and went back to the place that Buck and Anna were staying to play some games.

It got late so we went back to our hotel and called it a night.

The next morning, we got breakfast at the hotel then met up with our friends at the beach. We found an old small shipwreck frame and collected fun rocks to take to our boys. We then made our way to another beach where we searched for pieces of sea glass.

Apparently any photo of Anna I have is of her back, that's not weird at all!

We had lunch together overlooking the sound, then our friends had to catch their flights but Max and I stayed for a couple hours visiting the shops in Port Townsend.

We terrified these little river otters who were having a nap on the dock.

We picked out our annual anniversary glass. I should pull out all our random glasses and do a photo shoot. Someday!

The shops were all so fun but then we needed to make our way back to pick up our boys from Grandma. Cousins had come over to grandmas house and they were all having a big party when we got there, so we all had a great weekend!
We have had very few dates since Walter was born and this was such a special way to celebrate our anniversary and we thank the Pews for planning it for us!
