July 2021 happenings

July 2021

July was a whirlwind of a month. We had closed on the house but had a lot of work and cleaning before we could move in so we got right to work....by picking up supplies at Costco. I think this was the first time we all went to Costco together...in years.

I used to wear fancy shoes occasionally. My boys found them whilst packing

One of the fun things about cleaning up our new house was looking through all my grandma's artwork and photographs.  She loved painting!

There were many paintings but these were some of my favorites.

We celebrated 4th of July at my cousins house. We enjoying BBQ and swimming and fire.

Max just cracks me up in this photo. And Walter is adorable.

Line 'em up!

These were some comparison photos I made at the time after we had cleaned a lot of stuff out of the house.  (It looks even more different now, of course)

And some other photos of the July progress

We needed to replace the old tub and build up the pony wall so it could be used as a shower.

All at the flooring store. I liked them all lined up.

Out and about with Walter.

The blackberries were getting intense!

Flooring samples

Going through more photos. My Grandpa and Grandma and their wedding day.

Grandpa and Grandma.

My dad (bottom left) and his brothers.

Meanwhile we started to get nervous for homeschooling when this baby got mobile.  (As I was typing this I heard som mischief in the other room and found Walter had unloaded a drawer of paper plates and cups)

Fun with painting. Thankfully we got all the bedrooms, living, dining, and kitchen painted before we moved.

I've loved that my boys have a had a role in creating our house together.

Always finding treasures in our dump pile.

Meanwhile, we occasionally did school.

Our old babysitter grew up and left for college and gave his old pokemon cards to my boys. They were thrilled.

Many kind people came to help with our house. Grandpa Don did lots of painting.

My cousin Carolyn helped a lot in the kitchen and with painting and with yard work. It was so great to spend extra time with her.

More helpers.

Miles and Edwin had fun making big booties. The funny thing is,  I remember Max doing this in high school and we went out in public.

A picture of my grandma and I think she looks so much like Edwin.

Another comparison shot in the kitchen

These photos are out of order but Walter helped us pick out the carpet.

I found this little Worry Doll I had made when I was little that my Grandma had kept.

Also a digital camera with a photo of Grandma and her Great Granddaughter Amelia.

And here's a cute baby in the bath.

I absolutely love it when I catch glimpses of their teamwork.

Got a hike in with some friends.

The baby blessing outfit that my older boys and brothers wore was much too small fro Walter.

Getting started on their room.

Found this picture of my brothers that reminds me so much of Charlie and Miles.

I also like that My Grandma and Grandpa had their toothbrush holder labeled in their medicine cabinet.

Totally out of order but this was after we got all the furniture out. (but still had the carpet and curtains up_ and still not painted.)

We looked at a lot of floor sample and love the one we ended up using. Which was finally installed the week of Christmas.

Also out of order but it was fun to see them play in their future room.

He took lots of stroller naps while we worked on the house.

We had to move him from out bedside bassinet and the only place for him to sleep was my closet. Ha, we moved out just in time.

we had some water play time with cousins.

Wigs always make us laugh.

My boys needed a productive projects one day so we took the trampoline down and moved it over to our new house and they set it up. Well, I helped.

And as if we weren't busy enough, we found our perfect puppy match and decided to be dog people. I'll have a post on that later but, during July we visited the puppy a couple times and fell in love!

And here's a messy Walter.

That's our busy July...last year.
