September 2021
And I've made it to the September photo dump.
Some mornings when I took the dog out, I would pull piles of blackberries down. Those always felt like productive mornings.
Trying to play with her boy.
We finally got unpacked enough to prepare school materials. Edwin helping me prep our Space unit.
The beginning of a wonderful friendship. (and food-sharing agreement)
They all put on all the underwear they could find.
Making forts out of all the randomness they can find.
Hedge trimming.
We tried giving her her first bath in the little pool.
Long day
Max and I got to go on a real date. we had been on very few since Walter was born so this was a big deal and he had been planning it for awhile and conspiring with my mom to have her come babysit. He had purchased tickets to go see Lindsey Sterling in Concert and it happened to be on a day when neither Max or my mom was working!
We started out by getting some (I think it was Vietnamese) food and taking it down to the waterfront to have picnic.
The food was good but a little tricky to eat in picnic form, ha. And in case you're wondering why Max is wearing a bow, it's his mask.
The concert was at the Moda Center down town and masks were required at all times so it was ironic that we saw this sign there.
The concert was so good. ,We hadn't really been to any sort of performance in years so this was a pretty exciting night.
And then it was time to start the school year. And we could start the year with paper airplanes if we wanted.
He loves his puppy.
He had to shave his beard so he can properly wear a mask at work (at a hospital) so that was kind of sad. He has since improved his facial hair skills and options since this awkward mustache.
Such a helper
Then Edwin started preschool. He got to go to the same preschool his brothers went to. I also attended preschool at the same place over 30 years ago. We moved much closer to the preschool but weren't sure if we could make it happen until Max's work schedule changed and he was home on Mon-Wednesday and I could go help in the school. He had a wonderful school year and made lots of friends.
And I was grateful that he's my earliest riser so I barely had to ever pull him out of bed.
I got to be the parent helper on his first day,
After pulling up some ivy, we found this statue buried and so I decided to put it in random places to try and scare Max. (He had never seen it before) So I put it in the garage so it would be right in his eyeline when he opened the door or on the bumper of his car....it never really scared him but the boys thought it was funny. We also but it by the road in hopes that cars would slow down.
A straggling picture from our family reunion. Gwenevere is Maisy's favorite, she always has a purse full of dog treats.
This must have been his 9 month check up. My chubbiest baby! 💗
This is a progress photo. Thankfully our bathroom doesn't look like this anymore. (Don't worry, our children were never injured by the fiberglass.)
We got our carpet all ready to be fixed on Max's birthday. The person who claimed he could install it, (Before we moved) did it incorrectly and there was a big seam in the middle which had to be redone (which included purchasing a whole new section of carpet) after a whole bunch of frustration and searching ( and not being able to put much furniture in there) it got done by our new favorite flooring people.
Maisy's first rainstorm.
The boys all getting really excited for Max's birthday.
Once we finally got to put our furniture on the carpet in the living room, we were able to set up our dining room properly which was really exciting! But we still didn't have flooring in there. Ha!
We were excited to have out piano all set up! We even got it tuned!
When it started getting colder we were excited to have fires in our fireplace. And then do schoolwork by the fire.
Binky Sharing.
We had a planet art project we enjoyed. But it wasn't finished in September so you have to wait for my next couple posts to see our solar system art project...
Here's a glimpse of the sun.
And then we got to set up our living room. We still have plans of having a corner couch and some other furniture but that will be another time. It's never this clean so it was picture worthy
Another craft for our space unit.
Sometimes I go on walks in the morning with whichever kids are awake at the time. This morning it was Charlie and Spiderman. (Max is always home, in case you were wondering if I neglected my kids. )
Apparently Walter was awake and went on our walk with us. Miles was the sleepy head. But he's done some walks with me too.
Max's brother's family sent him a six-pack of Light Sabers for his birthday so we have all been having a lot of fun with that
We took them to the local track at night and had some hide n seek battles.
Just some cuteness
Worn out.
Measuring the distance of planets from the sun with toilet paper squares.
My preschool boy is learning important words
It has to get ugly before it got better. We removed the very heavy old tub.
Sometimes we would walk to pick up Edwin from preschool, then play at the park.
The basement bathroom actually looked a whole lot better once it was gutted. It was so moldy and disgusting.
More walks to the park.
That't last September, a whole school year ago.
